Check Off

CheckOff is a fast-paced, self-directed practice activity where students rotate through problems at their own pace while receiving immediate feedback. Teachers prepare by creating single, unique questions on slips of paper and posting all unique answers to those questions on the whiteboard. Students begin by selecting a slip of paper, determining the answer, and then locating that answer on the board. Once they find the correct answer, they check it off, record the problem number, and sign their initials to show they’ve completed it accurately. Students continue the cycle—grab a new card, solve, check off—working independently or collaboratively to complete as many problems as possible. Because every answer is visible, students get instant confirmation of correctness while the teacher can easily monitor progress and accuracy patterns. This structure builds confidence, encourages productive pacing, and turns practice into an engaging challenge.
