Scramble Squares® is a visually engaging and brain-challenging puzzle activity perfect for K–12 classrooms. The goal is to arrange nine colorful, illustrated squares into a 12″ x 12″ grid so that the images on each piece’s edges align perfectly in every direction. Although there are countless possible combinations in the 3x3 arrangement, there is only one correct solution—encouraging students to think critically and persevere through trial and error. This activity supports problem-solving, logical reasoning, spatial awareness, and pattern recognition. As students rotate and rearrange pieces, they develop persistence and attention to detail while learning to test hypotheses and collaborate effectively.
