Spoons

Spoons is a fast-paced card game for four players who sit in a circle with three spoons placed in the center. Each player is dealt four cards from a special 16-card deck made up of academic questions and answers. Players simultaneously pass one unwanted card to the left at the dealer’s signal, with no discard pile. The goal is to collect 4 matching cards or 2 pair of matching cards. Once a player achieves this, they quietly take a spoon, prompting the other players to grab the remaining spoons as they notice. The player left without a spoon challenges the first spoon-taker to “Prove it!” by showing their cards—if the cards match, that player earns a “W,” but if not, the spoonless player earns it instead. Play continues over multiple rounds, and the first player to spell WIN is declared the overall winner.
